1. Who We Are

Guitaring (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a free AI-powered guitar practice platform available at guitaring.net. We are a product of TechRange. This policy explains how we handle your data when you use our app.

2. Data We Collect

Account data: Your email address when you sign up. We use Supabase Auth for authentication.
Practice data: Session logs, practice duration, chords practiced, and progress entries you create. This data is tied to your account and used to power your progress dashboard.
AI coaching conversations: Messages you send to the AI guitar coach. These are processed by Azure OpenAI (Microsoft) to generate responses and are stored in your account for conversation history.
Custom songs: Song structures and chord progressions you save as a Pro user.
Payment data: Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details — Stripe handles all payment processing securely.
Usage analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the app is used (page views, feature usage, general demographics). This data is anonymized and aggregated.

3. What We Don't Collect

We do not collect audio recordings from the tuner. Audio is processed entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API and never sent to our servers.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
We do not use your data for advertising.

4. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve the Guitaring service
To power your personalized practice dashboard and progress tracking
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription receipts)
To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
To analyze aggregate usage patterns and improve the product

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Supabase — database and authentication (supabase.com)
Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com)
Azure OpenAI (Microsoft) — AI coaching (azure.microsoft.com)
Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics (google.com/analytics)
Vercel — hosting and edge infrastructure (vercel.com)
YouTube — song play-along videos (youtube.com)

6. Your Rights

You can:

Delete your account — visit Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our systems.
Export your data — contact us and we will provide a copy of your data within 30 days.
Opt out of analytics — use a browser extension like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger to block Google Analytics.

7. Cookies

We use cookies for authentication (session tokens via Supabase) and analytics (Google Analytics). We do not use advertising cookies. The tuner and chord library work without cookies.

8. Children

Guitaring is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
