Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using Guitaring (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. These Terms apply to all visitors, free users, and Pro subscribers.

2. What Guitaring Is

Guitaring is an AI-powered guitar practice web application. It provides tools including a chromatic tuner, chord library, interactive fretboard, song play-alongs, and AI coaching. The Service is designed to supplement, not replace, instruction from a qualified music teacher.

3. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your account secure.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• One account per person. Do not share accounts.

4. Free vs. Pro

The free tier provides access to the tuner, chord library, fretboard, limited song play-alongs, and a limited number of AI coaching sessions per month. Pro subscribers get unlimited AI sessions, custom song creation, and additional features as described on the pricing page.

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, but we will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you have an issue.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service at scale
• Use the AI coaching feature to generate harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content
• Share your account or resell access to the Service
• Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or access Pro features without a valid subscription
• Upload any content that violates intellectual property rights

6. Content & Intellectual Property

Guitaring owns all original content on the platform, including the chord library data, UI design, article content, and software code. Song chord progressions are music theory facts and are not protected by copyright. Song titles and artist names are used for identification purposes only.

YouTube videos embedded in song play-alongs are served under YouTube's embedded player terms. We do not host or distribute any music files.

Content you create (custom songs, practice notes) remains yours. You grant us a license to store and display it within the Service.

7. AI Coaching Disclaimer

The AI coaching feature is powered by GPT-4o and is provided for educational purposes. AI-generated advice may not always be accurate. Always verify technique suggestions with a qualified guitar teacher for important decisions about your playing.

8. Limitation of Liability

Guitaring is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
