How to play Somebody's Watching Me by Rockwell on guitar

These are the sounding chords. With a capo on fret 4 you play Am, F, G, A, C, Dm, the shapes the player above shows.

This is a fun one to learn because the groove is catchy and the chord loop stays memorable. At about 120 BPM, you get a steady, upbeat feel that is easy to lock into once you settle into the pattern.

You can lean on the open shapes A and E, but the harder shapes C#m, B, C#, and F#m will ask for clean fretting and quick hand movement. The main change to watch is the opening move between C#m and A, since it comes right back around and needs to feel smooth.

Start by practicing C#m - A slowly until the switch feels automatic, then add the rest of the chart in short loops. Once your fingers know the shapes, bring it up to tempo in small steps and keep your strums even and relaxed.

Use the play-along above to follow each chord change in time with the music, or learn the shapes first with the chord diagrams below.
